Lions excited to be seeing playoff hockey

The Halifax Lions play their first home playoff game in three years at the Halifax Forum on Monday night vs. the Pictou County Weeks Crushers. No question, it's been a turnaround year for the young Lions team led by Head Coach/GM Troy Ryan.
 

Big Weekend of playoff action

With the Lumberjacks winning the Bent mini-series, the four division semi-final match-ups are confirmed and action begins on Friday night in Woodstock.
 

Commandos, Slammers set to start

The Dieppe Commandos are now in preparation for the opening round of the playoffs. And prepare they must as their opponents will be tough as the Commandos face the Woodstock Slammers.
 

Slammers end with new record

As the Woodstock Slammers' unbelievable season come to an end, the team finishes on a high note by surpassing the 2003 Charlottetown Abbies in points with 92.
 

Owens with another outstanding week

It was Chris Owens week again in the MJAHL. But his Miramichi Timberwolves played just 2 games so he only scored 11 points. Oh yes, 10 of them were in one game. In all, one goal, ten assists. His challenger for the league point lead, Truro's Dana Fraser also had a good week, by normal standards, earning 7 points in two games (1 goal, 6 assists).
 

Playoff Dates Released

The 2010 playoff schedule has been released and action is set to start on Tuesday, March 2nd with the Bent Division mini-series.
 

Goalies take a beating

It was not a week most MJAHL goalies will want to remember - 135 goals in 16 games, more than 8 goals a game. And the Miramichi Timberwolves were the cause of a lot of the goalie grief - 32 goals in 4 games. And to top it all 6 players had a hat trick during the week, one of them doing it twice.
 

Slammers 11th in nation

The Woodstock Slammers moved up one spot in the CJHL rankings as of February 15th and now clock in at 11th.
 

Crushers celebrate former Olympians

The Weeks Crushers will kink-off the Winter Olympics by honouring former Olympian and New Glasgow native James Abram Garfield "Garf" MacDonald on Saturday February 13th against the Dieppe Commandos.
 

Troy Ryan named GM for World Junior A Challege

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) in partnership with Hockey Canada announced the appointment of the General Managers for Team Canada East and Team Canada West for the fifth annual World Junior A Challenge. Troy Ryan, General Manager of the Halifax Lions (MJAHL), will lead Team East.
 

11 point week for Earle

The first week of February was very good for Summerside's Chad Earle, who scored hat tricks twice during the week and added a 7th goal in the team's third game. On top of that he also had at least one assist in all three games, ending the week with 11 points, easily topping the week's scoreboard.
 

Crushers to honour MacDonald

Owens, Fraser dominant

Chris Owens not only set the Timberwolves' record for career points last week, he led the MJAHL in scoring, posting 8 points from a goal and 7 assists. League points leader Dana Fraser of the Bearcats was close behind with 7 points off 2 goals and 5 assists.

Week 21 Stats review

John MacDonald of the Halifax Lions led MJAHL scorers last week with 6 points from 2 goals and 4 assists. It was hat trick week in MJAHL as three players picked up a trio of markers in a single game.

the Campbellton Tigers from the Carleton Civic Centre in Woodstock to the E & P Senechal Centre in Grand Falls. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
