Nathan Dunnett – Assistant Coach

Nathan Dunnett Goaltending Coach

Hailing from Whitney, just outside of the City of Miramichi, Nathan has been playing hockey since the age of 12, starting out as a goaltender. A product of the Miramichi Minor Hockey competitive program, Nathan played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Baie Comeau Drakkar. During this time he was chosen “Player of the Week” three times for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League throughout his Major Junior career and recieved the same honour for the entire Canadian Hockey League (CHL) during the 2009/2010 season. In 2007 he was a member of Team New Brunswick in the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse. Nathan was pleased to have the opportunity to play his final year of junior hockey with the hometown Miramichi Timberwolves, and has stayed on as goalie coach for the team since the 2011/2012 season.

Andrew Lavoie – Assistant Coach

Andrew has more than 15 years of Coaching Experience at various levels from Bantam, Midget AAA, Junior B, and University with 5 Championships.
Andrew has 10 years of Scouting Experience throughout the QMJHL & MHL.

Andrew has been named Head Coach of the Charlottetown Minor Midget AAA Abbies for the 2014-2015.

Lavoie previously worked as an assistant with Charlottetown Islanders Major Midget from 2011-2014. Prior to the Islanders he was as an assistant coach for the UPEI Panthers Women’s Hockey team; assisting UPEI to the programs first AUS title.
He was named Head Coach for Team New Brunswick U18 at the 2008 Atlantic Challenge Cup bringing home Gold Medal Honours.
Lavoie is an Advanced Level 1 Certified Coach through Hockey Canada.

Away from the rink Andrew enjoys spotting for a number of pro-stock race teams throughout the Maritimes and Maine.


Carl “Butch” Watters – Assistant Coach

Carl Waters

After a 3 year term as Head Coach of the Miramichi Rivermen Major Midget Hockey Club, Carl joined the Miramichi Timberwolves at the start of the 2014-2015 season.  This will be his second time working with Head Coach Rob MacDonald, the first time around producing an NB/PEI Major Midget Championship with the Rivermen in 2010, and an appearance in the championship game of the Atlantic Major Midget Hockey Tournament.
Carl brings to the Wolves a strong background as both a player and coach.  His playing experience includes 3 years of Junior A Hockey with the Halifax Lions of the Metro Valley Junior A league, where he gathered 3 all-star and 2 top league defenceman selections, as well as playing senior hockey with the 1987 Hardy Cup winning Miramichi Gagnon Packers.  He has traveled extensively, using hockey as a spring board, to coaching stints in Australia and Iceland.  While in Iceland, he had the opportunity to work with their National Senior Team and had the good fortune of coaching in the B Pool of the 2002 World Championships, held in the former Yugoslavia.  Carl has many years of experience in the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence, having coached at the Under 18 Female National Championships 3 times and also in the provincial Male Under 16 and 17 programs.
Carl has a degree in Physical Education and has attained Advanced Level II Hockey Coaching certification.  He has been employed as a Recreation Officer with Corrections Canada at Atlantic Institution in Renous for more than 25 years.  He is married to Suzanne and enjoys fishing, gardening, baseball, and travel, when not in a rink.

Danny O’Shea – Equipment Manager

Danny was born in the former Town of Newcastle, raised in Boom Road, and has been with the Miramichi Timberwolves since 2011 as Equipment Manager.  Prior to this, he served as Trainer for the Rae’s Yamaha Rivermen for three years.  No stranger to organized sports, Danny coached minor baseball in Newcastle for fifteen years, including acting as assistant coach for the 2003 and 2005 NB Girl’s Selects Baseball Teams. He also served as an assistant coach for the 2009 NB Senior Women’s Baseball Team. During the hockey off-season, Danny can still be found often on a baseball field where he umpires minor ball.


Dustin Tozer- Assistant Equipment Manager












Dustin was born and raised in the former village of Nelson, and has been associated with the Timberwolves since 2001. A former hockey player himself, he last suited up for the James M. Hill high school team during his grade 10-12 years. In the summer months he can be found on the ball field playing baseball or softball.

Dr. Krzysztof Wierzcholawski – Team Physician













Originally from Poland, Dr. Krzysztof Jozef Wierzcholawski has practiced medicine in Miramichi since the summer of 1998. In addition to his Family Physician practice, he is also active in Nursing Home and Emergency Medicine.  He has a special interest in Sports Medicine, not only to take care of young athletes, but also for how adults and the elderly can use fitness to extend good quality to their lifetime.  Since 2009 he has served as the Biathlon NB Team Physician, and became Team Physician for the Miramichi Timberwolves at the start of the 2011/2012 season.  In his spare time he is an avid cross country skier, an aspiring biathlete, and a road cyclist in summer.

Dr. Geraldine Breau  – Team Dentist

















Born and raised downriver, a native from Neguac, Dr.Geraldine Breau is proud to live and practice in Miramichi. Since her graduation from dentistry in Montreal over 20 years ago,she enjoys family dentistry with three other dentist and a great staff at the Miramichi Dental Clinic. She is currently the North Shore representative on the Board of Directors for the New Brunswick Dental Society. Her greatest pastime is enjoying the great outdoors.

Dr. Greg MacDiarmid  –  Team Optometrist












A native of the former town of Chatham, Dr. MacDiarmid has practiced
optometry in Miramichi for over 25 years. He holds a Bachelor of
Science with Honours from Mount Allison University and a Doctor of
Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. He practices
full-scope vision care, with professional interests in vision safety
standards and sports vision. Outside the office, Dr. MacDiarmid spends
a lot of time in hockey arenas as the father of two boys, as well as
organizing various projects with the Rotary Club of Newcastle. His
office is located a two minute walk from the Civic Center.
