On Saturday, October 14th, the Miramichi Timberwolves attended the Children’s Wish Foundation Walk for Wishes. The Timberwolves have been participating in the walk for 10+ years.

The Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with High risk Life threatening illnesses. 

 They are currently working on 51wishes in NB 

3 of these are in Miramichi 

 There has been 916 wishes in NB since 1986 

Miramichi has granted 55 wishes (Each wish cost an average of $10,000) 

Joanne Stewart and her team of volunteers work hard throughout the year on different fundraising events. 

Joanne was awarded with “Women of the Year award – Women of influence” in 2015. And in 2016 she received the Children’s Wish NB Volunteer of the Year award. She has raised more than $126,515.00 over the years. 

Also, on Saturday, October 14th, Wish Child Katie Wood attended the Wolves game and was able to drop the puck for the Ceremonial Face-off. 

This year’s Walk for Wishes raised a total of $11,820.00
